Actor Rajesh Dhruva, who recently started learning to play the chenda melam, shared that it took him 15 days to master the traditional percussion instrument from Kerala. Rajesh, known for his debut in the Kannada film Shri Balaji Photo Studio, is now collaborating with director Sukesh Shetty for his upcoming project Peter, centered around the chenda melam. "To authentically depict this art form, I chose to study the fundamentals of playing the chenda. After 15 days of training, I acquired the necessary skills to perform on the instrument. Additionally, I underwent weight loss training to resemble a chenda artist," Rajesh explained. He expressed, "In our film, we aimed to seamlessly incorporate folk music into the narrative, offering a fresh and captivating experience for the viewers. In today's competitive film industry, it's crucial to engage and persuade audiences on why they should choose our film." Despite his success in movies, Rajesh plans to continue acting on television for a stable income. "I have no restrictions. Ultimately, I seek financial stability, which television offers. Once I firmly establish myself in the film world, I will contemplate focusing on one medium."
